Owner Auto-Biography - Paul Freese
I was born and raised in Batesville, IN, residing there still along with my wife Laura and sons Eric, Kyle, Levi and Eli. My first car was a 68 GTO that I purchased in 1983. Little did I know that car would lead me on a path my life would follow. I still own that car today, now in pro-street trim. Of course, many GTO's and Pontiacs would follow!
I worked at Batesville Tire in high school, and upon graduation was hired as a technician at Batesville Chrysler. After 10 years I became Service Manager of Heritage Motors in Shelbyville, IN. That was followed by stints at numerous Chrysler dealerships in the Cincinnati market. I took my ASE Master Certification and Gold Chrysler Technician status and went out on my own in 2002.
Cars were never just a means of transportation to me, they were always something much more. I was never happy simply maintaining and repairing cars. Opening FAST gave me the opportunity to do the kind of work that I truly wanted. Doing general repair work the first several years, I took in as much nrestoration work as I could find. Growing pains led to the opening of a second shop in Columbus IN, and ultimately to health issues that darn near killed me! I scaled back the operation to just the original Batesville location and started focussing on the Restoration end of the business.
